Files
What are the special folders and files in Files?
Most of Files is ordinary folders and files. A few items are created by Air9 and behave differently
Standard folders

| Documents | Where new Word documents are saved |
| Spreadsheets | Where new Excel files are saved |
| Pictures | Where new images are saved |
| Videos | Where new videos are saved |
| Audio | Where new audio files are saved |
| Downloads | Files the AI downloaded from the web and other files without a folder |
| Chats | One folder per chat |
| Bin | Deleted items, kept for 30 days |
These folders keep their name and place, and you organise your own folders inside them
Chat folders
Everything under Home → Chats is a live view of your chats, shown in a different colour. Each chat folder has:
- Uploads: files you attached in that chat
- Generations: files the AI created there
- chat.md: the conversation as text, always up to date
- memory.md: what the AI remembers about that chat. To change it, open Settings → Memory
A chat folder follows its chat:
- Deleting the folder deletes the chat, and restoring it from the Bin brings the chat back
- To keep a chat file somewhere else, right-click it and choose Copy to. The copy is an ordinary file you can rename, move and share
Recent files in the sidebar lists the files that changed most recently, wherever they are
