How do I use AI in a document or spreadsheet?

Click Use AI at the top of the editor and say what you need, for example "shorten this section" or "add a column with the total". Select text or cells first to point the AI at them

The AI's edits appear as AI proposals, and your file changes only when you accept them:

• Accept applies them
• Reject throws them away
• All proposals from one request are accepted or rejected together
• Changed your mind? Press Ctrl+Z (Cmd+Z on Mac)

One exception: if you ask the AI in Chat to edit a file that is closed, it changes the file directly. You can still go back with Version history
